Terms of service
Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between Vangarde Limited ("we", "us"), registered in England and Wales, company number 14906264, and the salon or business that subscribes to Purebook ("you").
They do not govern the relationship between a salon and its own clients. A salon sets its own booking, deposit and cancellation rules, and is responsible for them.
What we provide
Purebook is software provided over the internet for managing a salon's diary, clients, staff, treatments, stock and payments. We provide it as it is described on this site at the time you subscribe. We improve it continually, and features may change; we will not remove something you rely on without reasonable notice.
Your account
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what your staff do with it
- Keep credentials and staff PINs confidential, and tell us promptly if you think an account has been misused
- You must give accurate account and billing information and keep it current
- You must not use Purebook unlawfully, attempt to breach its security, or attempt to reach another salon's data
Your data
The client and business information you put into Purebook remains yours. We process it only to provide the service, on your instructions, as set out in the privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.
You are the data controller for that information. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for what you record — particularly health-related notes such as patch tests and allergies — and for telling your clients how their information is used.
You can export your data at any time while your subscription is active.
Payments to you, from your clients
Card payments run through Stripe. You open and own your own Stripe account, you contract with Stripe directly for it, and your clients' money goes to you, not to us. Stripe's processing fees are set by Stripe and charged to you under that agreement.
Refunds and chargebacks on those payments are between you, your client and Stripe. We provide the tools to issue a refund; we do not hold the funds and cannot reverse a payment on your behalf.
Fees, billing and cancellation
- Subscription fees are as quoted to you when you subscribe, billed monthly or annually in advance
- Prices exclude VAT, which is charged where applicable
- You can cancel at any time, by emailing support@purebook.co or from within the app
- Monthly subscriptions: cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. The service continues until then, and we do not refund part-periods
- Annual subscriptions: cancel within 14 days of purchase and we refund the fee in full. After 14 days the subscription runs to the end of the year you have paid for, and we do not refund part-periods
- Nothing here affects any statutory rights you have that cannot be excluded
- If a payment fails we will tell you and give you a reasonable period to fix it before suspending the account
- We may change prices with 30 days' written notice. If you do not accept a change you may cancel before it takes effect
Availability and support
We aim to keep Purebook available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we do not currently offer a formal uptime commitment. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where we can.
Support is by email at support@purebook.co, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and Saturday, 10am to 2pm (UK time). We aim to reply within one working day.
Ending the agreement
You may cancel at any time as above. We may suspend or end an account if fees remain unpaid after notice, if the service is used unlawfully or in a way that risks other customers, or if we stop providing Purebook — in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data.
After an account closes we delete or return your data as described in the privacy notice.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business or lost data arising from your use of the service, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will give 30 days' notice by email, and you may cancel before it takes effect if you do not accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
